City of Coral Springs Flag
"Where the Sawgrass Meets the Sky". Just like the title to the State of Florida's official anthem, Coral Springs is a city that Reflects what is still true to this State. Right on the edge of one of Florida's Natural Gems, The Florida Everglades, this flag reminds us of each level the city has grown into and gazes into the future of greater things to come.

Contest
The contest was set up among a rebranding campaign: "Our new brand, "Everything Under the Sun," is a small piece of a much larger marketing effort. This branding initiative was an investment in the future of Coral Springs. Our goal is to have businesses, residents, families, event planners, athletes, and sports promoters re-discover Coral Springs, and the unique experience that Coral Springs offers. No longer the 'city in the country,' we want residents, businesses and visitors to view the City as it is – the fifth largest city in Broward County, family-oriented, with a focus on developing a vibrant downtown."
Dale Williams' flag, which he calls "Where the Sawgrass Meets the Sky," received the most votes from both the public and the selection committee. The City Commission concurred with the choice."
Williams' design was one of the six chosen by a committee for final consideration. The public was also given an opportunity to vote. Both the panel and the public picked Williams.
"The Everglades Levee recently opened up and people all over come out to enjoy this part of nature and especially watch the beautiful sunsets," said Williams. "What makes Coral Springs unique is that piece of nature, which is so important to not only our state but to the world, is our backyard."
Williams, who is a freelance artist, has lived in the city for almost 20 years. "It is an honor to put a stamp on a city that I grew up in," he said. "It may not have my name on it, but I'd like to think I am now part of the City's history."
